Our philosophy
We believe in an individualized, health-for-life plan that includes routine checkups, a sensible vaccine program and adequate exercise.
Health-for-life means that we will help you to care for your friend so that he/she can be as healthy as possible throughout his/her lifetime. This includes but is not exclusive to:
Yearly (Routine) Checkups - Yearly checkups are a must. Think of it as a check-in. We want you to check-in with us so we know that your pet is healthy. Many unnoticed problems can be identified early, such as dental disease, heart and kidney issues, arthritis, and even cancer so that treatment can be initiated.
Blood Chemistry Profiles and/or Vaccine Titers - Just as your doctor will order a blood panel to check on the function of your vital organs, we do the same for your pet. This may
be done annually or semi-annually. A vaccine titer is a blood test to insure that your pet is adequately immunized against common diseases.
Essential Vaccinations Only - Vaccine protocols have come under much scrutiny during the last five years, and with good reason. With an increase in many chronic, degenerative diseases, such as autoimmune disease, degenerative arthritis, and even cancer, yearly vaccination programs have come under fire. Are yearly vaccines necessary and do they contribute to the onset of many of these illnesses? We believe that most pets have nearly lifelong immunity to many of the common communicable diseases, such as distemper and parvovirus, after receiving the initial puppy and kitten vaccines. We titer, or check blood levels, for that immunity to ensure that your pet is adequately protected and vaccinate only when it is appropriate.
Weight Management and Exercise - Yes, there are leash laws. But dogs need to run. And cats need exercise, too. We will help you to decide how to provide enough exercise for your pet for his/her physical and mental well-being.
Nutritional Counseling - Whether you feed canned, dry, or home prepared (cooked or raw), we can guide you in providing optimal and quality nutrition.
We value our relationships with you and your four-legged family members
You are your pet’s advocate. Since he/she cannot talk, we depend on you to give us a health history
to the best of your ability.
Today, patients and their doctors are much more interactive. We expect to interact with you. We are here to give you enough information so that you can make informed choices about the care of your
pet. We are open to and provide many alternative/holistic modalities and can help you to decide which options are most appropriate
Throughout your pet’s life, we are here for you
From birth to death, we will do our best to provide the most comprehensive veterinary care possible.
We want you to feel that we have taken care of your pet and you. Caring for your friend is a big commitment. We will honor that commitment and do our best to ensure that you and your pet have
a long, happy life together.
